Today, Sam and Debbie and I went to the National Gallery in Washington DC to see the exhibition of Edward Hopper. Every part of his retrospective was inspiring. From the watercolors of the 20's in Gloucester, MA [where i used to paint]-- to the mature work of the 40's and 50's-- Night Hawks and New York City imagery with isolated figures.... we were bowled over! Wow, what a master!
